Workshop Location

The Threshold of Galaxy Formation: A Tinsley Workshop will be held at the Yale West Campus Conference Center, 800 West Campus Drive, West Haven, CT which is located 7 miles west of Yale University.

Getting to Yale West Campus

Traveling from the Northeast region: 

• From Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC: We recommend taking Amtrak to New Haven’s Union Station (NHV). Yale West Campus is a short cab ride from Union Station.
• From New York City: Take the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line to New Haven Union Station. Yale West Campus is a short cab ride from Union Station.

Traveling from outside the Northeast region: We recommend flying into Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL), or a New York City airport (JFK, LGA, EWR). 

• Bradley International Airport is approximately 56 miles north of Yale West Campus and is serviced by all major airlines and car rental companies. Van shuttle services are available to and from the airport (e.g. CT Limo or Go Airport Shuttle).
• The New York Airports, John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia are approximately 75 miles south of Yale West Campus and are serviced by all major airlines and car rental companies. Van shuttle services are available to and from the New York City airports (e.g. CT Limo or Go Airport Shuttle).
• Newark Airport located in New Jersey is approximately 90 miles from Yale West Campus and is serviced by all major airlines and car rental companies.
• The closest airport to Yale West Campus (800 West Campus Drive, Orange, CT) is Tweed–New Haven Regional Airport (HVN), a short ride by taxi. Tweed is serviced Breeze Airlines which does not participate in travel systems like Expedia, World Travel, etc. Flights can be booked on the airline’s website.

Parking & Transportation

Yale West Campus provides free parking for conference attendees and guests. Parking can be accessed through the front entrance at 100 West Campus Drive Orange, CT 06477. If visitors are entering West Campus from a different entrance, please call 203.737.3111 to ensure gate access.

The Yale University Shuttle is a free service that provides transportation for the Yale community between Central campus and West Campus.

Hotel Block

We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Orange New Haven, which is a 15-20 minute walk to the conference center.
